Each year and as part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the local communities in which we live and work, the KGA team provides in-kind design services to a local non-profit organization. We are proud to support BeyondHome and collaborate with HomeAid Colorado on the new Arvada North development that will provide stable housing and needed services to local families.
About BeyondHome
BeyondHome is a non-profit organization that serves Jefferson County families who are at risk of homelessness. Families that enter the BeyondHome program have incomes below 30% of the area median income, with the average family income at just over $24,000. Nearly 80% of program participants are single-parent households.
The BeyondHome Arvada North transitional housing project is an integral part of the organization’s efforts to help families become self-sufficient. Stable housing is the foundation on which the organization’s programs are built. It’s difficult to learn essential life skills and put them into practice without secure housing.

Arvada North will provide quality housing and a safe environment for families to thrive. The community will allow BeyondHome mentors to meet families where they are and address their critical needs:
- Housing
- Financial literacy and education
- Social, emotional, and mental health support
- Job skills development
From program move-in to move-out, families will have access to transitional housing, career development resources, counseling, an onsite food bank, educational support, and financial assistance.
Upon program graduation, BeyondHome families have the means to secure market-rate housing, a credit score of 650 or higher, emergency savings, healthier and stable relationships, the necessary skills to earn a living wage, and a livable wage job.

BeyondHome & HomeAid Colorado Collaboration
Arvada North construction wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of HomeAid Colorado, a BeyondHome partner of nearly 20 years. HomeAid Colorado connects regional non-profit organizations in need of housing design and construction and matches them with local architects and homebuilders that offer in-kind donations of design and construction management services, trade labor, and building materials. The development of Arvada North will follow a similar model as HomeAid Colorado begins construction coordination of the project with area homebuilders.

Arvada North Design Details
The BeyondHome Arvada North housing project will consist of four townhome buildings, one duplex, and an admin building for programs and support services. The medium-density development reflects the organization’s emphasis on housing as a source of security and dignity. The design aligns with the expertise and skillsets of HomeAid Colorado builder partners, ensuring the project is buildable within the desired timeframe with significantly reduced costs to BeyondHome.
After what felt like a year of no’s and obstacles, BeyondHome Associate Director Deanna Mayberry shared how KGA’s involvement reignited the design and development process. “KGA’s been a real catalyst for us in 2024 because once we had their design concept on board, we took a sigh of relief for the good fit.” Through HomeAid and KGA relationships, Mayberry established connections with other consultants, including a civil engineer and landscape architect, that moved the project forward.
The two- and three-level townhomes blend with the surrounding neighborhoods and have been met with increased resident approval. The 24-unit community will feature a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom homes, with a focus on safety, stability, comfort, and community integration. The average BeyondHome family includes four people, so diverse bedroom and bath plans were essential.

Each townhome building uses similar materials and value engineering principles to maintain costs, and KGA created visual distinction through material placement, volume, articulation, and color. Resilient and quality materials will withstand multiple move-ins and move-outs and reduce long-term maintenance costs. In-unit storage will help reduce visible clutter from the streets. The design includes an ample 57 parking spaces from garages and off-street spaces to provide families with reliable parking within the community.
The Arvada North admin building will serve as both a resident hub and space to coordinate BeyondHome program services. It will be a space for mentorships, instruction, events, and social events. The community focuses on families, so children will have access to a safe after-school space for homework as well as an adjacent play area, a place to be kids and enjoy their new community.

More to Come
Currently in the entitlement process, the goal is to break ground on Arvada North sometime in 2026. We’ll be sure to share more construction and move-in updates as they become available!
